Payment Processing & Liability
How third-party payment processing can affect orders, refunds, and timelines — and the limits of Larevv's liability for events outside its control.
Last Updated: June 1, 2026Larevv relies on third-party payment processors and financial institutions to authorize, settle, and refund transactions. These providers operate under their own agreements and under applicable card-network and banking rules, and may take actions — such as holds, reserves, or settlement delays — that are outside Larevv's control. This policy explains how such events may affect your order and the timing or method of refunds, and the limits of Larevv's liability. It applies together with Larevv's Terms of Service and Refund Policy, and is subject to applicable consumer-protection law.
1. Third-Party Payment Processing
All payments made to Larevv are handled by third-party payment processors and financial institutions. Larevv does not control, and is not responsible for, the policies, decisions, or operational actions of these providers.
At their sole discretion, and in accordance with their own agreements and applicable card-network and banking rules, payment processors and financial institutions may hold, reserve, delay, freeze, or withhold the settlement of funds; impose rolling or fixed reserves; require additional verification; or suspend or terminate a merchant's ability to process payments or issue refunds.
2. Processing Holds, Reserves & Settlement Delays
Funds arising from customer payments may be subject to settlement delays, reserves, rolling reserves, or holds imposed by a payment processor or financial institution. During any such period, Larevv's access to the underlying transaction funds — including funds that would otherwise be used to process refunds — may be limited, delayed, or temporarily suspended.
A payment processor or acquiring bank may hold or reserve merchant funds for an extended period — in many cases up to 180 days, and in some cases longer — to manage chargeback and refund exposure. The existence and duration of any such hold are determined by the processor or bank and applicable rules, not by Larevv.
3. Effect on Refunds — Timing & Method
Where a payment processor or financial institution holds, reserves, freezes, restricts, or delays the settlement of funds, the timing and available method of refunds may be affected.
Larevv remains committed to honoring valid refund obligations under its Refund Policy. However, the timing of any such refund may be extended for the duration of the processor or bank action, and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, Larevv may issue an eligible refund by an alternative method — including store credit, an alternative payment method, or the original payment method once funds are released — where the original method is unavailable.
Larevv is not liable for delays in refund timing or fund availability that are caused by the actions of a payment processor or financial institution and that are outside Larevv's control. Refund obligations remain subject to applicable consumer-protection law.
4. Processor Suspension or Termination
If a payment processor or financial institution suspends, restricts, or terminates Larevv's ability to process payments or issue refunds, Larevv may temporarily pause new orders, change accepted payment methods, or adjust fulfillment and refund timelines.
In such circumstances, Larevv will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify affected customers, to resolve the matter with the processor or bank, and to complete valid orders and eligible refunds as funds and processing capability become available.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Larevv shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or relating to any hold, reserve, freeze, settlement delay, restriction, suspension, or termination imposed by a payment processor or financial institution, including any resulting delay in order fulfillment or refund processing.
Larevv's total aggregate liability with respect to any order shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the customer for the specific product giving rise to the claim. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any right or remedy that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
6. Events Outside Larevv's Control
Actions taken by payment processors, acquiring banks, card networks, and other financial institutions — including holds, reserves, freezes, settlement delays, and account suspensions or terminations — are outside Larevv's reasonable control and are treated as events of force majeure. Larevv's obligations that are affected by such events are suspended or extended for the duration of the event, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Customer Acknowledgment
By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and agrees that Larevv relies on third-party payment processors and financial institutions; that such providers may impose holds, reserves, settlement delays, or account restrictions outside Larevv's control; and that the timing and method of refunds may be affected accordingly.
Customers experiencing a delay are encouraged to contact Larevv directly at cs@larevv.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, so the matter can be reviewed and resolved as efficiently as possible.
8. Our Commitment
Larevv maintains its policies and operations with the intention of honoring valid orders and eligible refunds. Where events outside our control affect timing, we will communicate with affected customers and work in good faith toward resolution. This policy is intended to set clear, honest expectations about circumstances beyond Larevv's control — not to avoid Larevv's legitimate obligations to its customers.
